Glambot is an online re-seller of new and lightly used rare, limited edition, and discontinued makeup items. The site claims to alleviate the difficulties of swap-lifting, counterfeits, and unusable/damaged items.
I am by no means a "makeup collector". I do love makeup but I'm not in search of rare or discontinued makeup. The website is a little overwhelming. There are a lot of brands, the brands highly sought-after ones...and brands that are not available in Canada. It's pretty straightforward to navigate but I don't love the fact that "sold out" items are still listed.
There were quite a few brands that were on the site and also on my radar - Artis, Ben Nye, By Terry, Chanel, Huda Beauty, Kjaer Weis, Kylie Cosmetics, IT Cosmetics, Melt Cosmetics, Natasha Denona, Wayne Goss, Zoeva, Tom Ford, Lorac, etc. Keep in mind that "cult" or "popular" products will likely be sold out. Almost all the good stuff from from Huda Beauty, Artis, Natasha Denona, Wayne Goss, IT Cosmetics and Wayne Goss was not available. That being said, using Glambot requires patience and persistence, as the site is updated daily.
Pricing varies, depending on the condition of the product and how sought after it might be. I found that anything like-new or in good condition was only the tiniest bit discounted from the full price. There are sales and deeply discounted items but none of those truly interested me.
So what did I pick up? The Tom Ford Lipstick in Richard ($35 USD new, $31.50 USD on Glambot) and the Lorac Pro to Go Eyeshadow and Face Palette ($38 USD new, $34.20 USD on Glambot). Both were listed as being in "Good" condition with 80% fill.
The products took about a week to ship to Canada. I did not pay any duties. Both items were double bagged in a bubble envelope and also individually packaged in bubble wrap. The products were as-listed. The lettering on the LORAC Pro to Go Palette was slightly faded, with the eyeshadows looking ever-so-slightly used. The Tom Ford Lipstick in Richard seemed like it had only been used once or twice.
All in all, I'm satisfied with my Glambot order. I feel like it'd be a great option for (1) those who are looking for specific discontinued or limited edition makeup (2) those who want to save money and don't mind lightly used products or (3) someone who is looking to downsize their collection and also wants to make a few bucks.
