CoverGirl TruNaked Eyeshadow Palettes in Goldens and Roses

Affordable neutral eyeshadow palettes never get old. The CoverGirl Nudes TruNaked Eye Shadow Palette, CoverGirl Goldens TruNaked Eye Shadow Palette and CoverGirl Roses TruNaked Eye Shadow Palette ($11.99 each) are now available at your local drugstore.

Each of CoverGirl Nudes, Goldens and Roses Eye Shadow Palettes contains 8 shades of varying finishes (matte or satin) and can be applied wet or dry. Both palettes that I've toyed around with (Goldens and Roses) cover all the bases - highlights, base colours, crease shades and liner shades.

These baked eyeshadows are terrific. For the drugstore, they're of superior quality - rich in colour, smooth and blendable. The complete opposite of the sheer, chalky CoverGirl Eye Enhancers Quad in Sheerly Nudes and slightly less creamy and rich in texture when compared to the CoverGirl Eyeshadow Quad in Notice Me Nudes. There is minimal fallout and the eyeshadows fade slightly as the day progresses but this can be avoided with a good eye primer.

The CoverGirl Goldens TruNaked Eye Shadow Palette is touted as a near dupe for the warm-toned Urban Decay Naked 1 Palette. While I don't own the actual Naked 1 Palette, I do have an Australian drugstore dupe of it (the Chi Chi Glamorous Nudes Eyeshadow Palette) and I can say that the two are very similar. The CoverGirl TruNaked Palette has 8 shadows instead of 12 but there's solid variety in finish and colour for a variety of looks. There's a matte highlight, shimmery highlight, matte blending colour and 5 beautiful satin medium/dark eyeshadows. The deepest 5 shades in the palette are without a doubt the best things about it.

The CoverGirl Roses TruNaked Eye Shadow Palette could easily be considered a dupe for the rose gold tones of the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette or the L'Oreal La Palette Nude in Rose. Instead of 2 matte shades in the Goldens palette, there are 3. For the Roses palette, the medium purple-pink matte shade and the rose gold are what standout.

The CoverGirl TruNaked Eye Shadow Palettes are truly a standout at the drugstore. For a neutral lover like me, these likely will become daily eyeshadow staples. If you love a good neutral palette and/or happen to be on a budget, then these CoverGirl TruNaked Eye Shadow Palettes are worth adding to your drugstore wishlist.
