Wet n Wild Colouricon Eyeliners are part of their regular collection. I must have bought the purple eyeliner because I've heard along the grape vine that purple accents brown eyes well. I can't recall how much I paid for this product, but I know it was around $1-$2. Wet n Wild products are generally inexpensive and a fair quality. This eyeliner is no exception.
L to R: Standalone // Over NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil // Blended Out
Packaging. I'd just like to take this time to express my hatred for clear plastic caps. Most drugstore eyeliners have these and they crack so easily. It's half my fault for being irresponsible and pushing down the cap too much, but the clear lids are utterly horrendous.
Texture. This eyeliner is on the hard side. It doesn't pull your eyes like crazy or anything, but it's not a smudgy eyeliner like UD 24/7 Glide On pencils. If you look at the swatch, it can't really be blended out or used as a base because it's so hard. On the bright side, it doesn't transfer or smudge, so I'll never look like a purple raccoon. :)
Colour. This is what I'd call a "true purple". It's not plummy or aubergine by any means. The pigmentation is the best thing about this liner. It doesn't last all day, but at least 6 hours.
Overall. Despite the packaging flaws and the stiff texture, this is a pretty decent product for the really inexpensive price point.
Have you tried this product? What's your favourite eyeliner bargain?
I haven't tried any Wet n Wild products before because they don't have it here in Australia :( This shade of purple is very pretty and would be great to wear on a night out! I absolutely hate clear lids too as it looks so tacky- but then again it was quite cheap so I guess we can't complain too much there :P It's great to hear that it doesn't smudge but a hard eyeliner is too harsh to draw on my eyelids :( This sounds pretty good for just $1!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's so hard for me to complain when I purchase a product with some change :) It sucks there's no wet n wild in australia, but maybe somewhere online that ships internationally? :)
DeleteI have a pencil like this in white and you're right about the texture not being great but for a dollar I can look past it. I love this color though! I just purchased a cream eyeshadow in lavender today actually! Ready for some color!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love purples! definitely do a review on that cream shadow ;D
DeleteThat's a pretty color...I have brown eyes too, so I'm always rocking purple :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Liz, I always thought that I was stuck with the least beautiful eye colour (brown), but brown actually goes with almost everything! :)
Deletei've tried it in dark brown and might i say it's SO heavily pigmented which makes it great for the waterlin,e but i don't like how it looks on my lid. and it has a really waxy, hard to move feel (which you mentioned,) and finally i really don't like the plastic caps too but i mean what can you expect for something so cheap :)
ReplyDeletehaha pigmentation is definitely a huge plus, but I wish they could just... find another type of lid! :)
DeleteInteresting. I haven't tried any eyeliners from Wet n Wild. I do have their Silk Finish and Megalast lipsticks.
ReplyDeleteXX,
I am Jenniya
Ou those are great products!
DeleteI always walk right pass Wet n Wild products. But this one sounds promising! I seem to only have luck with eyeliners that are harder in texture. Otherwise it's panda eyes for me :T
ReplyDeleteyeah, it's not bad at all! I've got super oily lids, but this one lasts for a fair while :)
DeleteI've never tried any wet n wild products before but I'm thinking I might have too (:

DeleteWet & Wild liners are pretty much fine for me. Plus that they are cheap :). (But yup the caps DO suck ><)

haha... life sucks when caps are clear. :P
DeleteThis sounds like a bargain product but i'm not keen on eyeliners so i'm not sure if I would try it or not. I agree these lids are rubbish!

I find there's no point in trying it if you don't think you'll wear it! I definitely don't wear this enough!
DeleteLove the color! And for the price it sounds like a nice product! :))

Deleteomgsh! I share the same hatred for the drugstore clear-plastic caps as well!! If you look at most of my drugstore eyeliner or pencil-type products, all the caps are cracked! You're not alone with the crappy packaging! It's so unsightly! lol XD
