Firstly, I wanted to say THANK YOU x INFINITY for helping me reach 300 followers. Thank you for commenting and reading and supporting my blog. It feels like yesterday that I started my 200 follower giveaway, ya'll are crazy :P I wasn't really anticipating so much. I also wanted to let you know that there are many fun things to come in the very very near future ;)
Any ways, a kind reminder that the giveaway is STILL OPEN until the end of this very short month and you can enter at http://funsizebeauty.blogspot.ca/2013/01/giveaway-smooth-lips-for-perfect-kiss.html BEST OF LUCK :)
Needless to say, Winter is my skin's worst nightmare. Inevitably, cold weather = dry lips. Lately, I've been pampering my lips with an intense regimen. A few of the products featured are the one's I'm giving away, so enjoy!

Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm || EOS Lip Balm || Nivea Lip Smoothie || The Body Shop Hi-shine Lipgloss
1. DRINK WATER
It's easy to say drink water, but it's hard to actually do it. There's so many other things to worry about that drinking water is the last thing on my mind. What is it, 6 cups a day? I think I drink about 3. Although, lately at work I've been making an effort to walk to the kitchen to pour myself a glass of hot water. For some reason, drinking water makes my lips a little more dry... does this happen to anyone else?
2. EXFOLIATE
Just like any skincare or bodycare routine, it's important to exfoliate your lips. Remove the old, and let the new shine through. It's best done 2-3 times a week. I like to exfoliate my lips after I shower. Here's some budget-friendly and simple ways to scrub:
towel scrub. Take a damp cloth and rub it over your lips to remove dead skin.
toothbrush scrub. Use an old toothbrush and scrub lightly in circular motions to rub off dry skin.
simple sugar scrub. This one's for all you sweet tooths out there! Wet your lips then dab a little sugar on. Rub your lips together for 15 to 30 seconds and remove (lick) the sugar off. mmm sweet.
buy a scrub. not always budget friendly, but Lush carries some great lip scrubs.
3. NIGHT MOISTURE
(a) Hydrate with the Nivea Lip Smoothie
Nivea lip smoothie smells like a dream. I think it's something like cranberry/raspberry... I just love berries I like going to sleep and smelling this sort of beautifully sweet scent under my nose. As you can see from the swatch, there's not much colour to it. I could wear it for daytime but I prefer a slightly darker tint.
(b) Next, I layer The Body Shop hi-shine Lip gloss over the Nivea balm. This is way too shimmery for me to wear for the regular, old daytime. Not to mention, I'm not really a glittery gloss gal. However, this stuff is intensely nourishing. It's also super sticky, so when I wake up, I can still feel it on my lips. Furthermore, this is another one of those smell-good products. It smells some sort of guava passionfruit candy
4. DAY TINT
The Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm is not a hydrating product, nor does it smell wonderful like the other lip products. What it does do is it adds a beautiful, yet subtle deep brown-red tint. Don't be scared of it in the tube. I expected it to be dark, but it's extremely sheer, great for every day.
5. DAY MOISTURE
Since the tinted lip balm isn't the most nourishing, I protect my lips from the cold with EOS Lip Balm in summerfruit [not pictured]. I've heard and read a lot of people complain that it isn't worth the hype, but I think it's more than just it's pretty packaging. The balm is not soft and it won't melt in your pocket during the summer. However, it is soft and hydrating enough that adds moisture, while giving my lips a break from all that night time drowning in product. Even better, it's another one of those smell-good products. Can you tell that scent really matters to me when choosing the products I use?
I've been doing this routine for a few weeks now, and my lips have never been better during the Winter!
What products do you use to keep lips ultra-hydrated during the winter? What's your favourite way to exfoliate?
i want to try the nivea lipbalms in the tins :)

I understand how hard it is to actually drink 2-3L of water a day, haha. I recently bought the Nivea Lip Smoothie as well, thought for me it wasn`t really moisturizing, but I do agree that it smells amazing!
